Boy Scouts

Boy Scouts of America and PADI Scuba Diver Merit Badge

TRY Diving has actively worked with several Boy Scout troops to help them attain the open water diver certifications required to attend Sea Base in the Florida Keys.

If you  work with a scout troop and would like to learn more about the Scuba Diver Merit Badge, both Todd and Patti are counselors and will be more than happy to visit your scout troop to explain the benefits becoming a scuba diver and the steps involved in earning a scuba diving merit badge.

TRY Diving focuses on the scouting demographic of 12 to 20 year olds who are interested in becoming leaders in their communities.  We offer courses ranging from introductory scuba experiences all the way into the professional levels of diving.  Our courses are student focused, offering many paths for student divers to choose from.  We strive for higher skill development and more intensive scuba training to create divers who are self reliant, but operate as a cohesive team capable of progressing through the recreational levels of scuba.

By completing the PADI Open Water Diver course with Try Diving, a scout will earn their Scuba Diving Merit Badge while becoming an underwater ambassador with opportunities to champion their local environment such as dive site clean-ups.
